How to use Training OS

Getting started

Sign up, try Pro for 14 days, publish your portfolio.

Getting started

  1. 01Create an account. You get a 14-day Pro trial, no card. Afterwards you stay on Free; we never charge without a card. Sign up
  2. 02Projects live in My Content; the portfolio editor is under Portfolio. Open portfolio editor
  3. 03Share your live page: trainingos.com/portfolio/yourname. Custom domains come with Studio and Team. See example portfolios

Upload and playback

Export a SCORM zip from Storyline, Rise or Captivate, upload it, play it in the browser.

  1. 01In Storyline, Rise or Captivate, publish as SCORM 1.2 or 2004 and download the .zip. xAPI is coming with Allure Connect.
  2. 02Open My courses → Hosted modules and choose Upload SCORM. Free accepts packages up to 50MB and 500MB total storage. Pro lifts that to 200MB packages and 5GB. Upload a package
  3. 03If it doesn’t play, email the package to info@trainingos.com and we’ll sort it out. Email support

Portfolio

Edit, preview and control who sees it.

  1. 01Edit your headline, work and proof in the portfolio editor. Preview shows the visitor view. Edit portfolio
  2. 02Pick a layout (Editorial on every plan; Stage and Minimal on Pro, which you can preview first) and a brand: Teal, Violet, Charcoal or your own heading font, logo and cover. Click any image to replace it. See the layouts
  3. 03Pro can hide the Training OS footer, password-protect the whole portfolio and send an unindexed link for NDA work. Make your portfolio private
  4. 04Share links, iframe embeds, and review, endorse and recommend links work on every plan. Free includes 3 active share links with a “Made with” badge; Pro gives unlimited links, no badge, and your own expiry and play limit. The versioned client review workspace comes with Studio and Team. Make your portfolio private

Pro: put your whole portfolio behind a password and share it only with people you choose.

Password-protect your portfolio

  1. 01Open Portfolio. The Password row shows whether a password is on. Choose it, or open Design → Visibility. Open Portfolio
  2. 02Under Password protection, enter a password of at least 8 characters and choose Set password. Send your portfolio link and the password to the people who should see it.
  3. 03The password covers your profile, case studies, hosted courses and uploaded MP4 videos. YouTube and Vimeo links stay viewable on those sites. Visitors stay unlocked on their device for 7 days; changing the password signs everyone out of your portfolio. Package share links you create open that one package without the password, and a video someone already opened can keep playing for up to 6 hours.
  4. 04Keep the portfolio status on Public: visitors can only unlock a published portfolio. A draft with a password is locked to everyone.
  5. 05Password protection is a Pro feature and is included in the 14-day Pro trial. On Free the Password row shows it locked, with a way to upgrade. See Pro

Add Camtasia and other videos

Upload MP4 videos to play on your portfolio, alongside your SCORM courses.

Upload an MP4 video

  1. 01In Camtasia, choose Export → Local File and keep the default MP4 (H.264). You don’t need Smart Player: your portfolio plays the MP4 in its own player.
  2. 02Open My courses → Hosted modules and choose Upload video. Free accepts videos up to 50MB each; Pro up to 500MB. Videos count toward your storage. Upload a video
  3. 03Give it a title, optionally attach it to a project, confirm it’s training or educational content you have the right to share, and upload. It appears on your portfolio when the upload finishes.
  4. 04Want Camtasia quizzes or completion tracking? Export with SCORM turned on and upload the .zip with Upload SCORM instead.

Trial, Free limits and upgrading.

Billing

  1. 01The 14-day Pro trial reverts to Free on its own. Free keeps 3 projects, 500MB storage, 50MB SCORM packages, and 3 PPT-to-SCORM conversions per month. Hitting a cap does not delete your work.
  2. 02Upgrade from Billing. Checkout opens on Stripe — we never collect a card on trainingos.com. Manage or cancel later from the same page via the Stripe customer portal. Monthly plans cancel at the end of the paid period (no partial refunds); annual plans have a 30-day money-back guarantee on the first annual payment, and existing subscribers keep the 30-day guarantee they joined under. Education and non-profit accounts can apply for 30% off from the same page. Open billing

/02Troubleshooting

Something not working?

Start here. If it still fails, send the package or a screenshot to info@trainingos.com.

I cannot sign in.

Use “Forgot password” on the sign-in page and check spam for the Clerk email. If you signed up with Google, use the same Google button. Still stuck — email info@trainingos.com.

My upload failed or the zip is too large.

Confirm the file is a SCORM 1.2 or 2004 .zip (not a Review link or a raw .story file). Free packages max out at 50MB; Pro at 200MB. Storage caps are 500MB on Free and 5GB on Pro. Retry once, then email info@trainingos.com with the filename and approximate size.

The course will not play.

We run SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 in the browser. xAPI statement hosting is coming with Allure Connect and is not available today. If a standard SCORM export still fails, email info@trainingos.com with the package.

Can I upload Camtasia Smart Player output?

Not as a folder of web files. Upload the MP4 itself (Camtasia’s default export) and it plays in your portfolio’s video player, or export with SCORM turned on and upload the .zip as a package. How to add videos

How do I make my portfolio private?

On Pro, including the trial, open Portfolio, choose the Password row and set a password. Only people you give it to can see your portfolio, courses and uploaded videos. Step by step

Share links or embeds are missing.
Is Free actually free?

Yes. No card, no countdown: 3 projects, 500MB and a public portfolio, forever. Hitting a cap never deletes your content.
